Marathon Training

Welcome to another Fitness Friday inspired by Jill at Life...As I See It. This week my focus is going to be on running and my training plan for my fall marathon.

There are just 85 days left until my Marathon on October 2 in Portland Maine. Below is my training plan for the month of July. This is my fourth marathon so I am trying to improve my previous marathon times by working on speed and hill sessions.

WIAW

Welcome to another week of WIAW inspired by Jenn over at Peas and Crayons.

Peas and Crayons

Breakfast was some oats with chunky peanut butter topped with a few raisins and a large toasted coconut iced coffee with a little soy milk. I'm usually not a huge fan of oats but I didn't go food shopping yet so it was my only option really but it was actually pretty tasty the way I prepared it.

Lunch was a mango salad no dressing with chicken from Qdoba. After a long weekend of eating some not so healthy things I needed some greens and vegetables.

After work yesterday I had a Pilates session and Joe had a softball game so we just grabbed dinner at a local Italian place. I went with a pizza which had caramelized onions and fresh arugula with light cheese well done. It was delicious and fairly light for pizza and I love that it is brick oven pizza makes a big difference.

Question: What are your feelings on oats?

P.S. If anyone lives in the Boston area their is a great deal for a month of unlimited Boot Camp in South Boston for $25 on Living Social today.

Happy 4th!

I hope evryone enjoyed their nice long weekend and had a safe and happy fourth of July! My day started off bright and early yesterday with the Hingham Road Race.  I ran with some of my Back on My Feet residents, non-residents and my sister.
The gang at the start

Enjoying a well deserved pancake breakfast
After the race was over my sister and I head home to shower real quick then it was off to Squantum for the annual 4th of July Parade. We enjoyed watching the parade along the seawall with mine and Joe's family and Abigail.

Abigail's first parade!
Question: Do you have any 4th of July traditions?
