Cinco de Mayo via Heading Home

I had been asked to attend an event  on Thursday night through work for a local organization who works with the homeless population. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to attend because of a selfish reason. I usually take a class Thursday nights with my trainer Keri and didn't want to miss it, but as the day went on I felt more inclined to attend the event.

I am so glad I decided to go the event and learn more about the Heading Home organization, which is an organziation who help homeless families find permanent housing. I have truly been inspired to get involved in the homeless population after being involved with Back on my Feet. The event was hald at the State Room in Boston and was hosted by a number of great restaurants from around Boston offering different items from there menus. I had two favorites an ahi tuna cup from Longwood Events and a mini fish and shrimp taco with guacamole from Grill 23. I am so happy I attended the event and skipped class, especially since I worked out this morning. I am eager to learn more about the organization and am hoping to get involved in one way or another.

Beautiful view and rainbow from the State Room

What a great turnout they had
Although I am happy I went last night when the alarm went off at 4:30 this morning I wasn't as happy. I knew it would be another coffee morning for sure. I headed out to meet my BOMF team this morning. We had an orientation set up for any new members interested in joining the team. Sadly we only got one new resident to join us for the orientation  but even that is good, one more person we can help! I took him to meet one of the BOMF employees so he could go over the paperwork and all the logistics, I stay out of That's aspect of the program as much as I can. The rest of the members headed to the YMCA for their morning run which was going to be inside today since it's a cold one in Boston this morning.

Beautiful sunrise on the way to meet my BOMF members
After everyone was settled I headed to Marylou's to grab a toasted coconut iced coffee with soy and a twix iced coffee for Joe. Then it was onto the gym for my  myoforce class which was a great arm workout this morning, I felt like my triceps were going to fall off. I love this class because even though an exercise might focus on a certain muscle you are incorporating your whole body since you are on a pulley. Now its off to work but it is Friday!!!!!

Question: What is your favorite class at the gym?

  5. I have never been a big class person at the gym. I tend to be more motivated when I am working out on my own than with a group. That said, pilates classes usually rock my world!
